MAPS

Tanja Twelfth FloorPerforming Lines has been selected by Australia Council and Arts NSW to provide Managing and Producing Services aka MAPS to NSW theatre and dance groups for the next three years (2009-12). MAPS have been set up around the country to produce and manage these groups in a flexible and responsive way. Australia Council has partnered with state funding bodies to help some terrific artists create, present and tour their work nationally and internationally.

MAPS is already going great guns in Victoria (with Arts Victoria, managed by Strut and Fret), Queensland (with Arts Queensland, managed by Metro Arts and Brisbane Powerhouse) and Perth (with DCA, managed by Performing Lines).

The specific aims of MAPS NSW are to:

  • support individual professional and artistic development
  • stimulate arts and cultural development in NSW
  • contribute to innovation within and /or across art forms
  • improve performance and production standards
  • improve industry capacity and sustainability

As the successful candidate in a highly competitive field, Performing Lines is perfectly placed to deliver these outcomes for NSW dance and theatre artists. It has many years experience working with projects from concept to production to touring, and has collaborated with some of Australia’s finest artists at all stages of their development.  We look forward to exciting results from this new partnership.
