  • Translation Fund for Literature - $5,000

    International publishers may apply for a contribution towards the translation of Australian works of creative writing such as fiction, poetry, writing for children and young people, graphic novels, and narrative non-fiction (defined as autobiography, biography, essays, histories, literary criticism or analytical prose).

  • 2020 Cherish Fund

    The Cherish Fund is in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the disruption experienced by the First Nations arts and cultural sector and community. The Cherish Fund has been informed by the First Nations Roundtables and the sector discussions and consultations in which the emergent themes have focused on the priorities and needs analysis through the COVID-19 phases of disruption, recovery, rebuild, reimagine and reignite.

    The Contemporary Music Touring Program (CMTP) supports national touring activity undertaken by Australian musicians performing original contemporary music.

  • Playing Australia: Regional Performing Arts Touring Fund

    The Regional Performing Arts Touring program supports performing arts to reach regional and remote communities across Australia. Grants are available to support the net touring costs associated with a national tour. There is no limit on the amount that can be requested.

    The 2020 Resilience Fund is designed to provide emergency relief to support the livelihoods, practice and operations of Australian artists, groups and organisations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    We are directing approximately $5M to the Resilience Fund to provide immediate relief to the Australian arts sector.

  • Arts and Disability Mentoring Initiative 2019-21 - $30,000

    Applications are now closed.

    If you are an individual artist or arts worker with disability, these grants can provide support to extend your arts practice, networks, skills and ambition.

  • International Arts Strategy Outcomes Fund - $5,000 - $30,000

    The Australia Council is announcing its first Response Package to support artists, arts practitioners, arts groups and arts organisations coping with the impact of COVID-19.

    With immediate effect, we have suspended many of our investment programs currently or due to open. Suspending programs will allow Council to concentrate our efforts on responding to the crisis situation faced by our artists and arts organisations.

Assessment of artistic merit and excellence by peers with experience in the arts sector is central to our grant decision making process.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts

The arts of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people reflect the unique cultural heritage of the world’s oldest living culture.

The new grants program maintains Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander decision making on applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, groups and organisations.

Languages Other Than English (LOTE)

We accept applications in any language, for projects and activities in any language (including Auslan).

If any aspect of your application requires translation, please contact the Grants Enquiry Team at least four weeks before the closing dateof the round to which you intend to apply.

Please be aware that if you do not contact us before the closing date we may not have sufficient time to meet your translation needs.

WARNING

The Australia Council for the Arts is warning people about a scam involving callers who claim to be from the Council offering grant money. The caller tells people they have grant money for them and they quote an application number, but to access the funds they must provide bank account details and personal information. The phone number the scammers are calling from is answered by a voice identifying as the "Australia Council".

The Australia Council is also aware of several businesses purporting to offer information on government grants for a fee. This information is freely available from our website. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission provides further details on relevant companies operating these scams through its SCAM Watch website. Clients should check the SCAM Watch website to avoid paying for publicly available information.
