About the opportunity

Applications are now open for support to attend the International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) Showcase in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 21-25 January 2020. 

The Australia Council’s International Development Manager – North America will work with a delegation of Australians in Philadelphia to build connections with international performing arts professionals, organisations and artists working in children’s theatre/youth arts, and support their capacity to develop partnerships in North America. 

The Australia Council will provide *six delegates with $3,000 each towards the cost of attending IPAY. These delegates will be responsible for all costs associated with attending the meeting including flights, visas, insurance, accommodation and registration.

Selection Criteria

Applicants are required to respond to the following selection criteria:

  1. The impact of attendance at IPAY in developing future opportunities in North America and enhancing your reputation in North America.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the region, children’s theatre/youth arts sector and market.
  3. The timeliness of this opportunity and a demonstrated ability to plan and deliver on any international outcomes that may arise.

No supporting material or submitted budget is required. Please note that applicants will be unable to attach supporting material to their online application.

Selection process

Australia Council staff will consider applications according to the selection criteria above and will seek recommendations by industry advisors as needed.

You will be informed of the outcome of your application by early October 2019.

Changes to grants payments

The way Australia Council grants payments are made has changed. Effective immediately, grant recipients will no longer send an invoice for payment of a grant. Instead, after you accept our offer of funding, we will pay your grant into your nominated bank account and send you a Recipient Created Tax Invoice (RCTI).

Important information for administered grants

If you plan to have your grant administered by a third party, applicants will now need to ensure that the administrator is registered on the Australia Council online system before you begin your application. This means you cannot complete or submit an application if your administrator is not registered.

How to submit an application

Click on the ‘Apply Now' button at the bottom of this page. Applications must be submitted via the Australia Council’s online Application Management System (AMS).

You will need to register for access to the AMS, instructions for how to do this can be found on the landing page once you have clicked on the ‘Apply Now’ button. 

Make sure you register well before the closing date. It can take up to two business days to process your registration.

Note: Applications to International Development funding opportunities do not count as an application to the Australia Council Grants Program.
