Making a Grant Application

Once you have decided which grant program is right for you, you need to make a grant application and submit it for peer assessment.

Grant applications are submitted through our online Application Management System (AMS) If you are using the system for the first time you will need to register to access the grant application.

We do not accept applications submitted via post. Any material received by post will not be assessed and will be returned to the sender. If you think you will have difficulty submitting your application online, please contact the grants team.

Registering for the first time?

Once in the online system please click on the 'create an account' button to register for access to our AMS.

If your registration is approved, you will receive an Australia Council email containing your login information. This will give you access to our AMS.

Make sure you register well before the closing date. It can take up to two business days to process your registration.

Contact us at enquiries@australiacouncil.gov.au if you are unsure if you should register as an individual or on behalf of an organisation.

Please make sure you have entered accurate registration information (e.g. legal name, email address), as you will not be able to edit these details after submission.

Now that you have registered and received your login details you can start, edit, save and submit an application as an individual, on behalf of a group, or on behalf of an organisation.

Our online system allows you to save your work and come back to it at any time for review or further editing. You can do this as often as you like prior to submitting the application.. You may provide updates to certain information in your application after it is submitted. To update your application please go to the AMS page and select 'update my application'. You can make updates to confirmations for collaborators and partners, and for activities and venues. You can only amend these items, you cannot add items.

If you do not submit your application by the closing date it remains in our system and, in many instances, you will be able to submit that application to a future closing date. If in doubt, please talk to our staff. It is important that you are familiar with the following system requirements for making an online application.
