About the opportunity

Expressions of Interest are now open for support to attend the IETM Spring Plenary Meeting in Hull, UK, 28 - 31 March 2019.

Australia Council has worked in partnership with the International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts Network (IETM) since 2009 to develop long term collaborations and co-productions between Australian and European artists. This project has now evolved into a broader engagement with European networks and partners.

The Australia Council will lead an Australian delegation at the 2019 IETM Spring Plenary in Hull, UK. The Council’s International Development Manager – Europe will work with the delegation in Hull.

The theme for the Plenary is inclusion. It will ‘examine issues around race, ethnicity, faith, disability, age, gender, sexuality, class and economic disadvantage and any social and institutional barriers that prevent people from participating in and enjoying the arts as an integral part of the societies they live in.’ More information on this event can be found on the IETM website. Artists, producers and organisations are encouraged to consider the theme of the meeting when submitting an expression of interest.

The Council will provide up to twelve delegates with $3,000 each towards the cost of attending. Culturally diverse artists and artists with disability are encouraged to apply. The city and meeting will be fully accessible. Artists with disability may also apply for the cost of carer attendance or other support costs if required. If you are seeking additional support for access costs please upload a budget in your own format as support material.

Supported delegates will be responsible for all costs associated with attending the meeting including flights, visas, insurance, accommodation and registration.

Please check the general eligibility requirements on the Australia Council website.

How to submit an Expression of Interest

Click on the ‘Submit an EOI’ button at the bottom of this page. Expressions of Interest must be submitted via the Australia Council’s online system. To apply in the online system, please click on ‘Grants & Grant Reporting’ and choose ‘Expressions of Interest (EOI)’.

Note, this is an Expression of Interest and not a grant application. It does not count as an application to the Australia Council Grants Program.

Changes to grants payments

The way Australia Council grants payments are made has changed. Effective immediately, grant recipients will no longer send an invoice for payment of a grant. Instead, after you accept our offer of funding, we will pay your grant into your nominated bank account and send you a Recipient Created Tax Invoice (RCTI).

Important information for administered grants

If you plan to have your grant administered by a third party, applicants will now need to ensure that the administrator is registered on the Australia Council online system before you begin your application. This means you cannot complete or submit an application if your administrator is not registered.
