Arts Governance Full-Day Workshop

Key dates

  • 2 April 2020 Launceston (This workshop has been cancelled)

The Arts Governance Program full-day workshop will explore arts-specific governance for small-medium organisations.

The interactive workshop will see leaders of Australian arts organisations explore best practice, share their experiences and take part in a range of practical activities.

The workshop is not a governance fundamentals course, instead it explores key themes and concepts pertaining to effective governance in the arts, including topics such as the board’s role in the artistic health of the organisation and risk optimisation.

It is strongly recommended that before attending the workshop, participants either attend or view the free Arts Governance Refresher webinar.

The workshop is appropriate for senior leadership of small-medium arts organisations. It is mandatory for each attending organisation to include a board member, ideally the Chair.

This program is open to all Australian arts organisations, independent of their funding relationship with the Australia Council. Please note that places are limited.

$350 (including GST) per organisation, for up to three attendees.

Attendees should include the General Manager/CEO (or equivalent), Artistic Director (if relevant) and a board member (ideally the Chair).

The registration fee includes a complimentary two-year membership for each attendee to the specialist not-for-profit governance membership body the Institute of Community Directors Australia, an Our Community Enterprise.
